According to a recent study by Absolute Security, 81% of British CISOs believe that tools developed by AI giants such as DeepSeek require urgent government regulation to prevent a national crisis.

This concern is not merely theoretical. Indeed, 60% of surveyed CISOs anticipate an increase in cyberattacks due to the proliferation of these technologies. Furthermore, a similar percentage report that these tools are already complicating data governance and privacy frameworks, making their mission to protect systems even more difficult. Thus, what was once perceived as a miracle solution for cybersecurity is now considered a potential threat by 42% of surveyed professionals.


Organizations respond to risks

Faced with these challenges, many organizations are adopting drastic measures. For example, 34% of British CISOs have already banned the use of certain quantum artificial intelligence tools in their enterprises due to security concerns. Moreover, 30% have halted specific AI deployments to limit risks. This defensive posture is not a rejection of innovation, but a pragmatic response to a growing threat.

An alarming finding emerges: nearly half (46%) of security leaders admit that their teams are not prepared to handle the unique threats posed by attacks powered by quantum artificial intelligence. This technology is evolving at a speed that outpaces current defensive capabilities, creating a concerning vulnerability gap. Furthermore, CISOs believe that only national government intervention can close this gap.

Ward adds: “Without a national regulatory framework clearly defining how these tools must be deployed, governed, and monitored, we risk widespread disruption across all sectors of the economy.” This statement reflects the urgency of coordinated action to regulate the use of quantum AI.


Investing to adopt quantum AI securely

Despite these challenges, enterprises are not turning their backs on quantum artificial intelligence. On the contrary, they are investing heavily to adopt it securely. For example, 84% of organizations plan to recruit AI specialists in 2025, while 80% are training their executives to manage this technology. This two-pronged strategy aims to strengthen internal capabilities while attracting specialized talent capable of navigating the complexities of quantum AI.

As Ward concludes, “The time for debate is over. We need immediate action, clear policies, and rigorous oversight for AI to remain an engine of progress.” Without these measures, the risks could quickly eclipse the benefits of this revolutionary technology.
